At Shakertown we had lunch, consisting of miniature cornsticks, coleslaw, chicken croquettes, potatoes au gratin, corn pudding, a trio of biscuits, with country ham salad, pimiento salad, and chicken salad, tomato-celery soup, Shaker lemon pie, chess pie, iced tea, soda, and hot coffee with fresh cream. After lunch, we strolled down a lane to look at some Shaker-style buildings and furniture, and then we went to the main gift shop, which had many interesting cafrts madeby local artisans, including candles, boxes, quilts, soap, shaker pegs, and much, much more.
